‘Television is in no way a true mirror of society.’ To what extent o you agree with this statement?


Nowadays, people are getting on the media which is occupied more by tendency for visual than audio. Because it can bring us affection of both sight and audition at once. It means that the television which is known as the biggest way for visual may have significant potentiality to make our update relied on it everyday. Even when we get a bus or train we can watch it through lap tops or mobile phone recently, in addition, it stands on us just when we are born.
Then information brought by television could reflect our view, life and society, so that this media must bring us true essentially.

London visit - KOKO

I went to one of venue names KOKO to see concert of American bands name Low and Ida. It is located in Mornington Crescent station.
First of all, the venue had very beautiful interior decorations looks like opera house. We can view the concert at any floor we like.

As for the show, it has a concept for Christmas though I know it's little early and after the show brought by both two bands, they played many Christmas songs together. This occasion is very rare for us their fan and of course I enjoyed.

Tourism is the most important income in my town

My town Kyoto is known as the one of fanous city which priority of income brought by other prefecture or overseas is the most important. Because Kyoto has long history in ancient period as capital city for a long time ago, and the places and culture related with it is also famous.We promote visitting temples, shrines and places have significant story concerned with historical person. Moreover, culture school urge learning ancient culture for example, how to have Japanesque tea ceremony, flower arrangement and wear Kimono, recently. It's getting familiar among tourist from overseas rather than domestic tourist.

London visit - Gigs at the Scala

On 4th Nov, I went to see one underground Hip-Hop artist names WHY?. As you know, underground Hip-Hop has quite difference sounds than general Hip-Hop like what is sort of appears on Billboard chart. It's influenced from variety of genre which are post-rock, experimental, electronica etc.. with beats, rhythms and rapping are from Hip-Hop tendency, I think it's like improved Hip-Hop. Anyway, he played with a brand-new band(maybe) which was totally peaceful and surely his rap and rhythm were piquant indeed!

However, I thought other support bands who appeared before Why? played were not so interesting... Only this point made me disappointed at that time.

Anyhow, now I'm really interested in the organiser who held this gigs on that day because my music inclination is similar to their one as I can see their schedule. I would have been going on their events from now.

Task 10 - WebLearn

I've just studied on WebLearn brought by a web system at London Met. I know that my one of weakness is writing, so I tried to read Essay Structure exercise Structuring Essays. It was put togather with images and intelligible theories.
However, I felt this system was slow to move to next action, it is not comfortable point for me..

Task 3 - Diagnostic Language Test and follow-up

On the 27th Oct, I tried a quick placement test which was given by tutor.
After I finished to complete, I noticed I was weak on collocations and word meaning. I thought it meant my vocabulary and phrases are lacking, so that I have to collect them harder.

Task 15 - Vocabulary building and teaching

On 1st Nov, I learned vocabularies which I haven’t got on my memory “iknow”. This is the web site makes our English learner build up our vocabulary based on psychology. This web site says iknow is difference than other learning system because it can find which words are forgettable and made us poor, then it would focus on those specific words to re-study concentrically by we could gain them. In addition, this system brings to us like a feeling to play game rather than studying.
I recommend this system to students because firstly it’s free, secondly we can also learn pronunciation and phrases on this web site which shows us many example sentences derived from each word.
On that day, I learned following word I faced in the first time.

Task 5 - Speaking Practice

On 31st October, I went to one class mate’s house with other four students from London Met and two of their friend. First of all we conversed like introducing ourselves because some of them didn’t know each other. At that time we surely drank little, all topics were fun and I thought it was made friendship progressed. Finally, one of us suggested to have a words game which was a person had to explain a hidden word to everybody only with body language and guess it. Everybody was loosened up by alcohol at that time so it was getting funnier with strange answers.
Those activities were useful for not only peace but also improving our skill for speaking.

Task 7 - London visit

On 25th October, I went to a bar names “fly” in Camden which has live shows by bands. This place is my favourite bar because atmosphere and tendency of music is suitable for me. They bring many alternative bands on a stage and DJ plays various genre. In addition, its large is not so big and not so small, it is most important reason why I can feel comfortable there.

Task 1 - Introduction

My name is Haruna and I'm from Japan.
I’ve been here London four times. In this time I’ve come here again that’s why I will attend to a college if for learning Music Technology Course included recording, mixing, music marketing and so on. I had to study them because I’ve been working at CD shop and organizing own music events gathering many bands in my country.
After experienced them, now I’d like to begin own business which is running a shop related with merchandise of alternative music and also establishing own label.
I have to improve my English skill here to follow at next college.
